What is chip tuning and ECU remapping
Chip tuning is the reprogramming of the engine control unit (ECU) to unlock the power and torque the engine has in reserve. We read the factory firmware, calibrate it for safe extra performance and write it back, keeping the original to restore the stock if needed.
Stage 1 — remap without hardware changes
Stage 1 is a remap on a standard, unmodified engine. It typically adds +15–30% power and torque, improves throttle response and can optimise fuel consumption — all within the factory safety margin, without touching the hardware.
Stage 2 — remap for upgraded hardware
Stage 2 is for cars with hardware upgrades — downpipe, intercooler, sport air filter and so on. The firmware is matched to the modified hardware to extract more power safely. We discuss the right stage for your goals before the work.
EGR delete
The EGR valve recirculates exhaust gases and over time clogs the intake, causing power loss and errors. Software EGR deactivation removes these issues; we always advise on the legal and inspection implications beforehand.
Diesel particulate filter delete (DPF/FAP)
A clogged DPF/FAP causes power loss, increased consumption and expensive replacement. We disable the particulate filter in software quickly and with a guarantee; the impact on emissions inspection is explained in advance.

Is chip tuning harmful to the engine?
Correct chip tuning within the factory safety margin does not harm the engine. The danger comes from aggressive, low-quality remaps; we calibrate carefully and keep the modification within safe limits for the unit.
Can the factory firmware be restored? Is chip tuning reversible?
Yes, chip tuning is reversible. We always save the original ECU firmware and can restore the stock at any time on request.
How much power does chip tuning add (Stage 1 / Stage 2)?
Stage 1 usually adds +15–30% power and torque depending on the engine; turbo and diesel engines respond best. Stage 2, with hardware upgrades, can give more. The exact figure depends on the specific car.
Does the warranty remain after chip tuning?
On a new car under manufacturer warranty, a remap may affect warranty coverage on the powertrain. On cars out of warranty there is no such restriction; we discuss the situation individually before the work.
What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?

How long does the remap take?
A typical Stage 1 remap takes a few hours, including diagnostics, reading, calibration, writing and a test. More complex projects or hardware-matched tuning may take longer.
