How to pick up the car at the airport

Chisinau International Airport (IATA code RMO, formerly KIV) is 13 km from the city centre, a 15–20 minute drive. Instead of hunting for a taxi after the flight, it is simpler to take the car right at the terminal.

  • Pick a car in the rental catalogue and leave a request or call us.
  • Tell us the date, time and flight number — we track the arrival and adjust delivery if the flight is late.
  • Our staff member meets you in arrivals, we sign the contract and hand over the keys.
  • Before departure you return the car at the terminal — the check takes a few minutes.

Cars we deliver to the airport

We can bring any car from the rental fleet to the airport — the only limit is availability on your dates. The most popular choices:

  • economy class — for the city and short trips, the best value for a few days;
  • mid-size and business class — for business trips and meetings;
  • SUVs and crossovers — for trips to the regions and for winter roads;
  • 7–8 seat minivans — for a family or a group with luggage.

What you need to rent

The requirements are the same as picking the car up at our office — the airport changes nothing:

  • driver aged 21 or over;
  • category B driving licence and at least 3 years of driving experience;
  • passport or ID card (for companies — company details and registration documents);
  • a refundable deposit set by the rental contract — returned within ten days after the car is handed back.

What airport car hire costs

The daily rate starts from 500 MDL for the economy class and depends on the car class and the rental period: the longer the rental, the lower the daily price — on long rentals it goes down to roughly 300 MDL per day. Airport delivery is charged separately and quoted at booking, before the contract is signed. The daily mileage limit is 200 km, counted cumulatively on multi-day rentals; an unlimited-mileage option can be added. All settlements are in Moldovan lei.

The drive from the airport and what to keep in mind

It is about 13 km from the terminal to the centre of Chisinau along Dacia boulevard — a calm 15–20 minute drive. Parking in the central districts is paid, and in winter the roads to the regions can be icy, so if you plan trips outside the city between November and March a crossover is the safer choice. Driving abroad is possible but must be agreed in advance: some countries require additional insurance.

Frequently asked questions about airport car hire

How much does airport delivery cost?

It is charged separately from the daily rate; we quote the amount at booking and write it into the contract — we have no hidden airport surcharges.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing to worry about: we track the flight by number and adjust the delivery time. There is no extra charge for a delayed plane.

Can I collect the car at night?

Yes, delivery and collection run around the clock, including night and early-morning flights. Just tell us the time when booking.

Where exactly do we meet?

In the arrivals hall of Chisinau International Airport. Our staff member waits with a sign and the keys, and we sign the contract on the spot.

Can I return the car at the airport if I picked it up in the city?

Yes, pick-up and drop-off points can differ: for example, collect the car at our office on str. Uzinelor 88 and leave it at the terminal before your flight. Just mention it when booking.

Do I need an international driving permit?

A national category B licence is enough for drivers from the CIS and the EU. If your licence is issued in a non-Latin script without a duplicate, an international driving permit is advisable.

Can I drive the rental car abroad?

Yes, but the route must be agreed with a manager in advance: some countries require additional insurance. Call +373 79 75-22-22 before booking.
